The McCormick Reaper
In 1831, Cyrus H. McCormick successfully built the first wheat-harvesting reaper. The McCormick reaper collected wheat faster and more efficiently than hand reapers. This was a turning point in history because it emphasized and enlarged agricultural machinery and in return fed more people. His dad, Robert, was the one to come up with the idea but Cyrus was the one to make and sell it. Because of his reaper, the USA was one of the top wheat producing countries.
